Brain Dettmer's creates his unique book dissections and other artworks from old novels or encyclopaedias. He also makes an intriguing series from molded cassette tape sculptures. Dettmer states that 'the completed pieces expose new relationships of a book's internal elements exactly where they have been since their original conception.'

daft hands

This is amazing. The coolest. Ever. Congrats to anyone who can be bothered/ has the time to learn this. I. however, have other more important things to do, such as wasting away my downloads and time posting people's hands onto certain blogs.

bright lights

I go through phazes of different styles and designs, meaning that i constantly change the state of my room, in particular. I've recently decided that, with my non-existant funds, a smarter, slightly less conspicious, and totally unrealistic way of doing this; is to change the lighting. I have thus decided that i would very much so like to gain possession of a large designer chandelier.

I love this quote, simple and effective.

fairies

Anna and I both have an astounding/depressing/inspiring passion for fairies, and both quite desperately would like to see or be one ourselves. Not going to pretend that i haven't spent many years of my life clinging to the belief that there are little creatures which i can't quite see in that old willow or pine. Because i have. And perhaps still do. Just maybe.

moomin

Recently, I've been reminiscing on my childhood loves and obsessions, many of which were fairytales or stories. One of these was the delightful 'moomin' series. Tove Jansson originally illustrated and wrote these stories, before they were made into a tv show.

I love this work by Johan Prag, because to me, it symbolizes the way that people seem to be branded, almost, by their occupation, social class, status, and history.

lake house

I am constantly posting fairy houses that i desperately want. Not to say that I have strayed from this obsession, but I have found this absolutely stunning lake house which is a somewhat more realistic version of my oh-so-desired fairy dwellings.

Audrey

Audrey Hepburn is, I'm sure, regarded by many people as one of the most beautiful women ever. I am one of these people. I especially love this photo of her, for the same reason as I love a lot of relaxed, slightly-less-posed photographs.

materialism

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I'm fairly sure that this was created to be facetious, or at least sarcastic. Unfortunately, when i first saw this, my first reaction was; THIS IS SO TRUE. So right now I am doubting my, and I'm sure many other's depth and perception of the world and materialism.

sparkle

My brother, Jack came up with a fantastic idea to take some photos on my new camera whilst running in the rain with a sparkler.
These are the results..

trapped

These two photographs are beautiful representations of modern day society.
The way the woman is trapped behind the screen, beautifully illustrates the ignorance of society.
I think all of us look at life through a screen.
Looking at what we want to see and blocking out what we do not.

fantasy-e-scape

I agree with this so ridiculously much. It is almost like a tease for me, reading fantasy book after fantasy book then falling into epic jealously thrived depressions afterwards. I think that is what draws me to fantasy books the most, they are the kind of books you can think about and dream about for months afterwards. Their ideas and concepts stay with you and seep into your mind and your own imaginations. People always want what they can't have most so something that doesn't really exist, is the most compelling.

bright pink!

Words that come to mind; vibrancy, statement, bold, beautiful.. oh no I just put bold and the beautiful together. I will stop now before more corny soap operas are part of my photograph descriptions.

passion taken to new heights never been reached- literally...

Is this not fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!?
This is the best lover bubble I have ever seen, even if it is of course photoshopped. It is amazing and I love it.

foral grandma prints

I absoultly adore these lovely floral grandma prints which are around everywhere. I have them all over my room; doona cover, wall and just about on 90% of my clothing. I don't think anything else needs to be said; the photos speak for themselves..

regretsy

There's this great site called regretsy, which is obviously as take on Etsy, and is absolutely hilarious. Etsy is a online shopping website. The brilliantly titled Regretsy is a new blog that documents the more peculiar/unfortunate items for sale.

spray on

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I've decided that a lot of artwork which is heavily reliant, not on still or craftsmanship, but on it's concept can either epically fail or really move people. I love some of Banksy's indoor stuff, because he doesn't spend time and effort deciding how to 'portray the statement'. He just sprays his concept right onto a wall.
