the girl with a pearl earring
I thought it strange, and oddly intriguing, that people are more often categorized by what they wear than who they are. I started thinking about this when I saw this painting in some place or another. I have to admit though, I have gained the terrible habit of noticing stranger's clothing before their faces, although i guess that could be expected seeing as one's face takes up all of about one seventh of our bodies. Still, interesting.

ANTI BLOG PERIOD IS OVER
Brief period of no posting for a while.
Notttt to worry. I'm getting back into the rhythm so hopefully heaps of mindless shit to sift through will pop up over the next couple of days
The flowers really have no relevance to this post or anything, just didn't want to post empty of visuals. They are nice though? Yes? :)

repeat
“If there is something to desire,
there will be something to regret.
If there is something to regret,
there will be something to recall.
If there is something to recall,
there was nothing to regret.
If there was nothing to regret,
there was nothing to desire.”
Repeating this over and over and over.

on black
I've changed my hobby of drawing charcoal sketches of friends from photographs - to drawing objects, from real life, with no given amount of time. I think this method is particularly useful for me, because I have a terrible habit of keeping on drawing, and fixing, and rubbing out; until I ruin the whole drawing. So, without time restraints, I am forced to stop myself from drawing when it's as finished as possible. Here are some of the outcomes of my Saturday at home.

Another animal that I have not loved prior to reading the Obernewyton Chronicles is; horses. The last time I rode a horse it was a spotty one that was supposed to be calm and simple (quite similar looking to the horse in the photo above). I thought, Great. I should be able to handle this.
In the end it nearly bucked me off numerous times, chased other horses down hills into creeks and scared the living shit out of me for every torturous second I was on it.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind testing out horse riding again, I have grown to be in awe of their size and manner rather then frightened. But again, this is most likely because the horses in my book can put thoughts into other's minds..
Damn you fantasy books.

meow
I have grown quite a yearning to acquire a cat. I suppose it has grown from the latest book series I am reading, Obnewyton Chronicles. You should read the series if your fond of any end of world/fantasy themed shit. Back to cats, I have to admit that for majority of my life I haven't been a fan of the unpredictable animals, but there's something knowledgable about them that makes them seem dependant even if they roam more then they stay home.

I found out yesterday that I have to opportunity to move to New York at the end of next year! And now I am trying to define the city which I may well be living in.
